Active Release Technique
What is ART?
Active Release Techniques (A.R.T.) is a soft tissue management system, which means it helps the healing process for joints, ligaments, muscles, and nerve entrapments. It is widely regarded as the most effective system for healing soft tissue ailments and reducing or removing pain, tingling, numbness, and other problematic conditions that consistently afflict soft tissues in the body.
Things to Be Aware of about ART
Just like everything else in life that truly works, ART is not an instant cure. It takes several sessions to eradicate complications like Repetitive Stress Injuries or Cumulative Trauma Disorders, things ART is specifically designed to target. Don’t worry though; significant improvement is usually reported after the first session. Regular maintenance prevents the same symptoms from recurring. ART is also copyrighted, trademarked, and patented in order to maintain the highest level of consistency in terms of quality care. If you see anyone for care who claims to know about ART, make sure that they are ART-certified and licensed.
ART and Chiropractic
Of course, the best results come with a combination of ART for soft-tissue problems and regular chiropractic care for proper spine and bone alignment. Some patients may experience a lessening of discomfort and tightness in their tissues with ART, but if their spines and other joints are still misaligned, they will continue to feel tugs and pulls on their muscles and ligaments. Likewise, someone who gets adjusted regularly may need ART to help break up scar tissue that has developed in the muscles from years of being overworked or improperly used.
Dr. Mike holds the highest level of certification for ART available today and works as an assistant instructor in training others for official certification. He attends seminars regularly throughout the year, both to learn the newest methods of care and to become more efficient and practiced in established treatments. He wants to ensure a quick and successful recovery for his patients, so you can rest easy in his hands!
